Jelajah ke Co. Limerick, Ireland

Ok, it was 31st July 2010 and since jejak kaki ke bumi Ireland on October 2009, ni baru kitorang plan for Ireland road trip (almost a year!). Dan since ada ahli MyPSI, Anuar kat Limerick, kami dengan muka x malu nya mintak nk tumpang rumah dia for 2 nights. Wife Anuar, Aisyah sambung PhD kat University of Limerick. Dalam bidang Kimia kot. Anuar tak keje, duk rumah jaga anak je. Kesian kat dia. Tapi sama la ngan kes aku haha. So family aku kawtim ngan family Adi and Nazri utk sewa kereta dan konvoy from Dublin ke Limerick. Aku amik satu kete sbb ada anak, plus brg2 budak lagi. Dan diorang share 1 kete. Melayang more than €300 gak menyewa kreta ni, utk 5 hari. Aku book via thrifty.ie

Masa ni harga petrol murah lg. Paling murah aku jumpa €1.29 kot. (Now x silap aku €1.60). Kat sini x mcm Msia. Harga petrol tak sama, so kalo nk topup penuh, mmg cari stesen yg paling murah. Dan diorang dh lama guna Ron95. Kete yg guna Diesel pon bersepah, cuma I heard quality Diesel kat sini is much better than Malaysia punya. Wallahualam

So on that weekend, jelajah ke County Limerick kitorang pon bermula. Our aim was to travel Dublin - Limerick - Offaly - Galway - Kerry - Clare - Dublin Yg best nya, sepanjang perjalanan ni, cuma kena 1 tol je. Huhu

Affan, my 2 y/o son (masa ni la, skrg umur 5 tahun dah) wajib duduk atas car seat or booster. Its part of the law. And also rear passengers kena pakai seat belt. Bagus kan? Irish cars are driven on right hand side, sama macam Malaysia/UK so there was no issue at all. Kalo lefthand side, mau tak kekok aku dibuatnya.

Takkan hilang Melayu di dunia, ceewah. Lepas driving for few hours, stop cari port bukak sia tupperware bekalan. Belasah nasi for lunch tepi jalan! So far xde mat saleh yg lalu. Kalo diorang nmpak mesti ternganga tgk kitorang. Entah2 report polis, ada group of crazy ppl eating by the roadside LOL. Anyway, dlm gmbar tu, belah kiri is Nazri and wife dia, Ana. Belah kanan Adi with his wife Aida.

Alhamdulillah kitorang selamat sampai rumah Anuar, nk dekat Maghrib. Kebetulan masa ni dia tgh nk pindah rumah. So dia ada 2 bijik rumah, rumah lama n baru. Kitorang dpt rumah baru! Best gak location rumah dia. Kedai halal pon dekat. Tak kisah semua tu, asalkan boleh mandi dan tidur. Dpt tido atas sofa pon takpe hehe. Alhamdulillah semua family dpt bilik masing2. Rumah Anuar mmg terbaik.

Mlm tu we made small celebration for Affan's 2nd birthday. He was born on 1st August 2008. Aunty Aida bought him a nice disney wrist watch. He loved it so much. Gi mana2 asyik pakai jam tu je. Skrg jam tu dah pecah, aku terpijak sebab Affan tak tidy up his toys! Grr... sori ye Aunty Aida

King John's Castle

Next morning tu kitorang buat program masing2. The temperature was around 10°C. Aku gi ronda bandar Limerick, including University of Limerick. Limerick itself is not a big city. The most famous spot is King John's Castle. Aku x masuk pon. My schedule was very tight. Pasni nk gi UL pulak. So bergambar je kat dpn Castle tu. Siap ada arsenal kuno kat dpn entrance. Kalo sape yg biasa main chess, design castle (next to Bishop) tu sama la mcm Castle ni.

Thomond Bridge

Kitorang sempat bergambar kat Thomond Bridge, built 1836 and still serving (gambar bawah). Opposite castle je. Aku rasa x ramai org local yg appreciate the history, tourists je yg lebih2 haha.

Ok, lepas habis bergambar kat situ, kitorang drive to University of Limerick lak (local call it as UL). Univ ni mmg bapak besar. Kalah TCD (Trinity College). Kalo google arial view, boleh nampak The Living Bridge of UL, siap ada tasik bagai. UTM skudai aku pon tak sebesar ni, paling kuat ada kolam nk kayak je. Pernah gi mancing kat kolam tu ngan budak SGU lain, malam2 buta. Mancing senyap2 je takut kantoi, tapi akhirnya PakLan kena tangkap gak ngan pak guard huhu. Apa aku merapu ni

Memang cantik bridge ni cuma not accessable by car. Lagi pon masa tu weekend, diorang tutup even for pedestrian. Maybe for maintenance purpose. So we all bergambar kenangan kat entrance je. Sedih2

So ni je la hasil trip kitorang to Limerick. Next destination, Kerry!! We all waited for Nazri and Adi to get ready and convoy sama2. Vroomm, vroommm....
